Elafonissos is a very small island that is located in the extreme south-east of the Peloponnese in front of the city of Neapolis. It has an area of 19 square km and is just 570 mt. from the coast
of the Peloponnese (Punta). His name, Elafonissos, which in greek means Deer Island, seems to derive from the fact that in antiquity was widely practiced especially hunting of red deer, so
reports to the greek historian Pausanias.
Also in the surrounding region there were many shrines dedicated to the goddess of the hunt Diana. Elafonissos and perhaps the island more exotic Caribbean beaches of the Mediterranean with the
